Feng Shui and Beautiful Bedrooms

Feng Shui Bedroom Feng Shui for Beautiful Bedrooms

Here are ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures from one of my recent consultations in Cumbria. We combined feng shui and room - staging, with lovely results.
On a hillside near Penrith, this restored bank barn houses a small training centre with a difference. The owners run some really interesting residential weekend courses, including the art of smoking your own food, and how to downshift successfully. In between courses, the two guest bedrooms are used for Bed and Breakfast.

The point of the consultation was to transform the guest bedrooms into warm welcoming spaces, to complement the personal attention and scrummy home baking provided by the owners. Everything was up for change - colours, layout, furniture and accessories. The budget was sensible rather than lavish.

The main changes and their feng shui reasons were:

Removed the single bed and bits and pieces being stored (clutter!)

Repositioned the bed diagonally opposite the door (security and privacy)

Painted three walls in Almond White, one in pale blue (space and tranquillity)

Painted the double bed and a pine cabinet in ivory eggshell (extra light)

Found matching bedside lights (balance and stability, couple symbols)

Bought curtains & bedding in blue, ivory and beige (earth tones to enfold)

All credit to the owners for following my recommendations - I think you’ll agree
it looks great. We anticipate lots of return visits from pampered ramblers - meanwhile, here's what the first guests had to say:

"I just love the rooms. The blue room is so peaceful and serene and yet it manages to be cosy at the same time. I have loved staying in it".
Inger Perkins

"Amazing! I would never have thought it was the same room. It is fresh but with a warmth and feels very relaxing. Lovely! "
Alex Barbour

"I love this room. It is much warmer and more inviting than before. The colours are rich and welcoming . It seems much bigger and more spacious and altogether more comfortable."
Karen Trego.
